Horizon Forbidden West: How To Climb Tower in Riverwatch – A Tribe Apart

Aloy stands in front of the tower in Riverwatch

Horizon Forbidden West is finally here. And it’s looking like it will be one of this year’s biggest hits – and for good reason. It’s a deep game with an exciting story and a tonne of quests. Right from the off there’s a lot to do, including a variety of interesting side quests. One such quest is A Tribe Apart, in which Aloy must team up with an Utaru, Jaxx, to help a squad of Tenakth. Alongside Jaxx and Tenakth soldier Sokorra, you head to Riverwatch to get a vital War Cache containing supplies. Once inside Riverwatch, you must climb the tower to reach the War Cache. As always, climbing the tower is a puzzle in its own right. Here’s how to climb the tower in Riverwatch in Horizon Forbidden West.

Unfortunately, climbing the tower in Riverwatch isn’t as simple as approaching the base and heading upwards. You can’t access it directly from the courtyard nor can you scale it from the outside. Instead, you need to use the environment to your advantage and create a path up to it.

This is how to climb the tower in Riverwatch in Horizon Forbidden West:

From Riverwatch’s courtyard, head up the stairs and run round to the left towards the partially collapsed turret. Above is a crane holding a platform – shoot the rope. The platform will drop onto the room below and destroy the wooden wall. Go inside the room and drag out the large crate. Place it next to the opposite wall (Aloy facing NW) and climb up to the walkway. Run across to the turret and drop down to the left onto another walkway – be sure to lower the ladder on your right. Now, grapple up to the side of the tower and climb round to the left. Head over the bridge/arch to the balcony at the other end, then turn around. Grapple up to the ladder above. Climb up and you’ve reached the top of the tower and the War Cache.

And that’s it – you are now able to rappel down the tower and rejoin your companions. They will be engaged in a fight with machines which will need to be destroyed to complete A Tribe Apart.
