Each Merlin Trial begins in the same way: finding a spiral plate embedded in the ground.
After using Mallowsweet to activate the trial, you can start to solve it.
As this is the first trial of its kind, solving it is pretty straightforward. However, timing is of the essence.
This Merlin Trial involves three pyres that are in a rough crescent shape around the spiral floor plate.
This is how to solve the first Merlin Trial next to the Black Lake in Hogwarts Legacy: Light all three pyres using Incendio before the first one sinks into the ground.
After lighting the first pyre, it begins to descend. You need to quickly run to the other braziers and ignite them before time runs out.
Thankfully, they aren’t far apart so lighting them within the time limit is easy.
