This Helldivers 2 guide explains how to destroy Automaton outposts.

It’s early days, but Helldivers 2 may end up being the most beloved multiplayer game of 2024.

The smash hit third-person shooter sees players team up in squads of up to four to take on dangerous robots and giant bugs.

These enemies are threatening humanity and the galaxy, and it’s up to the Helldivers to stop them. The game features an ever-evolving war where players must work together for the greater good.

Currently the primary objective of the war is to fight the Automatons. These lethal robots travel in large groups and can quickly overwhelm you.

This is partly due to their Automaton outposts, which contain fabricators that can produce and deploy more robots.

Thankfully, these can be destroyed – but this can be challenging if you don’t know what to do. So, allow us to explain.

How to destroy Automaton outposts in Helldivers 2

To destroy Automaton outposts, you must destroy the fabricators. These are metal factory-like buildings that glow red.

Most notably, they feature two large open vents on the roof. When it has produced a new robot, its doors will briefly open so the robot can be deployed.

To destroy the fabricators, you simply need to get close enough to throw a grenade into one of the open vents.

Once you have thrown the grenade into the fabricator, quickly flee the area. This will trigger a large explosion that can damage you.

To destroy the entire outpost, you must do this to every fabricator in the vicinity. Once you’ve done this, a message will appear on-screen informing you that the outpost has been successfully destroyed.
