Released earlier this month, Helldivers 2 has quickly become a sensation for Sony, drawing in tens of thousands of players on PC and PS5. The Galactic War has captivated the gaming community, as players unite to wipe out the invasive bot and bug threats.
Set against the backdrop of a massive conflict for galactic dominance, Helldivers 2 unfolds as human colonies from Super Earth confront the formidable forces of the Automatons and the Terminids.
This four-player cooperative game requires teams to descend onto planets, executing missions crucial to the ongoing war. The focal points are the Liberation and Defend campaigns.
In Liberation campaigns, Super Earth’s Helldiver forces strive to liberate planets from the clutches of the Automatons or Terminids. Conversely, Defend campaigns task players with safeguarding a planet against enemy invasions.
The current Major Order mandates players to emerge victorious in at least 8 Defend Campaigns against the Automatons.

This is how to complete Defend Campaigns in Helldivers 2:
Defend Campaigns should not be confused with missions/operations which you complete with your squad. Instead, Campaigns are community-wide objectives that must be completed by all players within a set amount of time.
To play your part in completing a Defend Campaign, you must first find a planet that is marked “Defend” on the Galactic War map and complete missions there. You will also see a timer that is counting down the time left on the campaign.
Below the planet there are two progress bars which show how the campaign is going. Blue indicates Super Earth forces whereas red/yellow shows the status of the Automaton/Terminid armies. Whichever bar is higher has the edge in the campaign.
To participate in the Defend Campaign, click into the planet and find missions/operations to complete. If successful, this will contribute to the overall defence effort and further Super Earth progress.
When the timer reaches zero, whichever army has the upper-hand will take control of the planet. If the enemy wins, then a Liberation campaign will become available.
