Harry Potter and rap music are two things you’d never expect to go together. But one creator has combined them for incredible (and hilarious) results.

Artist NTFLX & Drill recently achieved viral success with their music video ‘Hagrid & Harry’, which features animated versions of the beloved characters rapping about their lives in the Wizarding World.

Since being posted to TikTok on May 12th 2024, the video has achieved 7.5 million views and 855K likes at the time of writing. And fans can’t get enough of its magical – and lore-accurate – bars. The song opens with the line “Youngest tri-wizzy. Cedric, are you dizzy?” and it only gets better from there.

Before long, Hagrid makes his entrance in the coldest way imaginable with the bar “Ron already said stop acting silly… It’s Hagrid and Harry.”

One viewer commented that “Hagrid’s entrance was too damn clean”, while others said “[they’d] buy a whole album of this” and “This is golden. Well done.”

Some were quick to accuse NTFLX & Drill of using AI to create the video. However, in the comments, NTFLX & Drill explained that “only the voice change” uses artificial intelligence while they created the beats, lyrics and animations themself.

The creator has also achieved viral success with other Harry Potter-inspired music videos, including ones featuring Voldemort, Ron Weasley, Dobby, and more. They have even branched out beyond the Wizarding World and created drill raps for Yoda and Jon Snow.
