GTA 6 trailer length revealed as YouTube countdown begins

The length of the long-awaited GTA 6 trailer has been revealed. This comes after social media users were able to gather the data from the trailer’s YouTube countdown placeholder.

After literally years of hype, Rockstar Games finally confirmed that the next Grand Theft Auto was in development in February 2022. After a year and a half of no new information, the company subtly announced on X in November that the game’s trailer would be released in early December.

Fast forward to 1st December, Rockstar dropped a teaser image announcing the trailer’s premiere date as 5th December at 9am ET. The post is now approaching two million likes and has been seen over 157 million times.

Today, just one day before the trailer’s release, Rockstar launched its official YouTube countdown page. While it currently only shows the widely-shared teaser image, the video has already received more than 300K likes and has over 44,000 people ‘waiting’ at the time of writing.

With fans desperate to learn as much as they can about GTA 6, eagle-eyed social media users were quick to analyse the raw data behind the video and have already discovered the trailer’s length.

How long is the GTA 6 trailer?

The GTA 6 trailer will be 1 minute and 31 seconds (91 seconds) long.

This has been widely confirmed by multiple social media users who have examined the raw data of the trailer’s YouTube countdown. One user on X known as @SynthPotato provided a screenshot to support their claims, which you can see below.

Curiously, the video’s data also indicates that three people have already viewed the trailer. Exactly how this would be possible is unclear, but we’re sure plenty of people will be jealous of them right now.

If the GTA 6 trailer is indeed 1 minute and 31 seconds in length, that will make it one of Rockstar’s longest-ever reveal trailers. Red Dead Redemption 2‘s trailer was 1 minute and 9 seconds, Grand Theft Auto V‘s was 1 minute and 25 seconds, and GTA 4‘s was just 1 minute and 3 seconds.

This fact should help alleviate any concerns fans have that GTA 6‘s debut will be too short and lacking in footage.

Exactly what the trailer will showcase is unknown. But, in less than 24 hours, we will all have the answers we’re looking for.
