Grand Theft Auto fans are hoping that an overlooked but highly-immersive feature from Red Dead Redemption 2 is included and improved in GTA 6.
Rockstar‘s critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 is renowned for its deeply engrossing world. And fans have heaped praised on it ever since its release for its incredible attention to detail.
Everything from the daily routines of NPCs to the shrinking of horse testicles in cold weather has been discussed and analysed to the Nth degree.
Naturally, this has led fans to wonder how Rockstar will take things to the next level in GTA 6.
Over on the r/GTA6 subreddit, one Red Dead Redemption 2 feature in particular has caught the attention of fans – crime scenes.
In that game, lawmen would appear and take bodies away after gunfights and crimes. This small detail makes crimes and deaths feel more authentic and impactful as they actually have an effect on the game’s world.
Reddit user u/Slvg_565 is hoping Rockstar take this cool feature one step further in GTA 6. They wrote: “Does anyone else hope that after you commit a crime, let’s say robbery that the area becomes a [crime] scene? In [Red Dead Redemption 2] lawmen would take the bodies away, in [GTA 6] I hope [they] take it a step further.”
The post has garnered interest from other GTA fans who think it’s a great idea. User notartist007 commented “I hope so”, while u/Rari-Gang expanded on the concept: “I hope the world interacts with the aftermath of crimes. Crime scenes are one.”
They continued: “Another thought I had was if you kill or mess with a gang member, you start up a “beef” or “feud” with that gang and they’ll be hostile with you until you either wipe them out or settle it somehow.”
Another commenter thinks the feature is a lock for GTA 6, explaining “It’s safe to say that Rockstar will implement most if not all mechanics they created for RDR2 in GTA 6 with improvements.”
We think an enhanced crime scene feature would be a fantastic addition to Grand Theft Auto VI. Red Dead Redemption 2 set the standard for video game immersion and, by the time GTA 6 arrives, that will have been seven years ago.
With that being said, it’s highly likely that Rockstar will have improved on the finer details of Red Dead Redemption 2‘s game world and include them in GTA 6. And a crime scene feature may be just one of them.
