We finally know when God of War Ragnarok will be with us. The long wait is almost over and fans will soon be able to experience Kratos and Atreus’ next adventure.
Thankfully, the God of War Ragnarok release date isn’t far away. In fact, it’ll be here in just four months. God of War developer Santa Monica Studio confirmed the news in a PlayStation Blog and announced the game will officially launch on November 9th 2022.

CONFIRMED: God of War Ragnarok Release Date and New Trailer
Grace Orlady, Sr. Community Manager at Santa Monica Studio, wrote in the blog: “God of War Ragnarök is officially coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 9, 2022!” Pre-orders for Ragnarok will begin on July 15th 2022.
Orlady continued by unveiling the game’s brand new CG trailer called “Father and Son”. You can check it out at this link.
The trailer contains a “glimpse at some of the dangers Kratos and Atreus could find themselves up against as Ragnarök approaches.”
This news also confirms recent rumours that Sony was planning to release the game in November. Sadly, that speculation prompted some awful behaviour from certain Twitter users.
Things got so bad that God of War director Cory Barlog was forced to call out fans following harassment of a female developer.
Pre-order and Collector’s Editions unveiled
Orlady closed out the blog by announcing God of War Ragnarok Collector’s Editions. A separate PlayStation Blog was posted detailing each edition. They are:
- Launch Edition (available when purchasing God of War Ragnarok before launch)
- Includes: Kratos Risen Snow Armor and the Atreus Risen Snow Tunic cosmetics.
- Standard Edition
- Includes: PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. PS4 version can be upgrade to PS5 version for $10.
- Digital Deluxe Edition
- Includes: Full game for PS4 and PS5, Kratos Darkdale Armor, Atreus Darkdale Attire, Darkdale Blades Handles for the Blades of Chaos, Darkdale Axe Grip for the Leviathan Axe, Official God of War Ragnarök Digital Soundtrack, Dark Horse Digital Mini Artbook, Avatar Set, and PlayStation 4 Theme.
