This guide explains how to crouch in Forspoken.

Square Enix’s new action RPG Forspoken has finally landed on PS5 and PC as the first AAA launch of 2023.

Despite promising trailers, the game has been met with a somewhat mixed reception. Nonetheless, there’s a fair amount to like about it. And players are eagerly getting stuck in to the magical world of Athia.

Forspoken comes from developers Luminous Productions. It stars Ella Balinska (Netflix’s Resident Evil) as Frey Holland.

Frey is a New York City girl down on her luck and facing jail time. In a crazy twist of fate, she ends up in Athia after finding an enchanted cuff.

In Forspoken, Frey faces off against the Tantas. They are a tyrannical ruling clan that control Athia. Frey must use her freshly discovered magical powers to explore the mysterious continent, defeat dangerous foes, and find her way home.

Athia is a huge fantasy open-world. Thankfully, Frey can make use of unique traversal mechanics to dash and fly across the massive world using magical parkour.

One thing players want to know is how to crouch in Forspoken.

Despite its impressive movement mechanics, crouching is something that you don’t have complete control over.

However, it is possible in certain circumstances. So, let’s go over how to crouch in Forpsoken

How To Crouch In Forspoken

In most games, it is possible to crouch whenever you want to. But that’s not how it works in Forspoken.

This is a bit confusing because the game is built around its various traversal options. And you’d be forgiven for thinking that crouching would be a part of it. However, there are only specific sections where you can crouch.

This is how to crouch in Forspoken: Crouching is only possible when attempting to catch the Tanta Familiar cats. To crouch, hold L2 when the prompt appears.

Throughout the rest of the game, L2 is used to cast defensive spells. So, it isn’t available for use as the crouch button. The game doesn’t give you the option to bind crouching to another key, either.

So, there you have it – now you know when and how to crouch in Forspoken.
