A Fallout TV show is coming. The television adaption of the popular post-apocalyptic video game series was announced back in 2020. And with a long wait until the next Fallout game, this will surely satisfy your cravings in the meantime.
The show will be made for Amazon Prime Video. Amazon officially decided to move forward with it in January. Now, three new cast members have been confirmed for the much-anticipated show. It looks like Amazon is pulling out all the stops to make Fallout a success. And they need to – the competition in the video game adaption arena is fierce. Netflix has the Horizon adaption lined up, and HBO is deep into production on The Last of Us. So, who is starring in the Fallout television series?
Fallout TV Show new cast members
Variety is reporting that Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Aaron Moten have joined the Fallout adaption cast as regulars. MacLachlan is well-known for his roles in Twin Peaks, Dune, Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, and more.
MacLachlan, Mendes-Jones, and Moten have been added alongside the already announced leads, Walton Goggins (Django Unchained, Ant-Man and the Wasp) and Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Army of the Dead). Exactly what roles the new trio will play in the series is unclear. Although it has been hinted that Goggins will play a ghoul-like character. Sadly, no other details are known about the show’s characters at this time.
What will it’s story be?
We know next to nothing about the characters in the upcoming series. And the same goes for the TV show’s story. Fallout is set in a world where culture hasn’t progressed since the 1950s, although technology has advanced significantly. This technological progress and global hostilities over resources culminates in a nuclear war in 2077. The Fallout games primarily take place in the centuries following the war.
It’s all but guaranteed the series will retain the setting the games are known for. That why they’re so beloved, after all. However, we don’t know whether the adaption will feature an original story or retell an existing one. We’ll have to wait and see.
Fallout TV Show crew
While we know very little about the series, some details have emerged regarding the team behind it. Westworld‘s Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, Bethesda’s Todd Howard, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner all serve as executive produces. Robertson-Dworet and Wagner will also be co-showrunners.
Jonathan Nolan will direct Fallout‘s first episode and production is set to commence later in 2022.
