Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III‘s (MW3) first season will include the addition of ten perks exclusive to Warzone.

Season 1 of MW3 officially begins on 6th December 2023 and will feature the new game’s integration into Warzone. In a lengthy blog post, Activision detailed a host of sweeping changes for the popular battle royale game. The new season will see the introduction of the Urzikstan map and MW3‘s widely-praised movement mechanics will also be brought over.

The exclusive perks will bring the total number of perks available in Warzone to more than 30. Activision hope the perks will “allow for an impressive variety of playstyles”.

You can check out a complete list of the exclusive Warzone perks coming in Season 1 below.

Exclusive Warzone perks list (MW3 Season 1)

Activision has announced the following exclusive perks will be added to Warzone in MW3 Season 1:

  • Irradiated: Move faster and take less damage while in the gas.
  • Tempered: Now also available as a Custom Perk, Tempered allows you to refill armor plates to full with two plates instead of three.
  • Combat Scout: Bullets you fire briefly ping an enemy for you and your squad. Hitting the enemy from farther away increases the ping time.
  • Resolute: When taking damage from gunfire, this grants a short bonus to movement speed.
  • Shrouded: Drop a smoke grenade when downed.
  • Mountaineer: Reduces fall damage.
  • Stalker: Increased strafe and aim down sight movement speed.
  • Escapist: Increased downed, prone, and crouch speed.
  • Primed: Accuracy and time to aim down sight is improved while jumping.
  • Faculty: Delay triggered explosives while sprinting, warns of nearby enemy equipment, and reduces combat noise.

In our view, each of these perks have game-changing potential. Irradiated, for example, could come in clutch during the final circle as the gas closes in. Likewise, Shrouded is sure to help many players avoid death after being downed and Combat Scout will be a major benefit when facing off with enemy squads.

Default Warzone Perks (MW3 Season 1)

In addition to the new exclusive perks, players will also receive five perks that are enabled by default. Yes, you read that right. All players will have the following perks enabled by default in every game of Warzone when Season 1 begins:

  • Tac Pads: Improves slide distance and allows for full ADS while sliding, along with increased stance transition speeds.
  • Commando Gloves: Enables reloading while running.
  • Quick-Grip Gloves: Increases your weapon swap speed.
  • Climbing Boots: Increases climbing and mantling speed aspect.
  • Overkill: Allows you to pick two Primary Weapons.

Activision states these default perks are being added to assist with “movement and rotation opportunities on the new big map of Urzikstan”. We expect the inclusion of Overkill will likely stand out to players.

Despite being considered essential for success in Warzone, players have always been required to equip Overkill and take up a slot that could’ve been used for something else. That will change in the new season when everyone will be able to pick two Primary Weapons no matter their choice of perks.

This is a change we’re greatly in favour of as it will allow players to explore other tactical opportunities without having to constantly reserve perk space for Overkill.
