Elden Ring is here at last. And it has certainly lived up to the anticipation. Praise is pouring in from across the video game industry. Elden Ring‘s incredible reception has also persuaded lots of gamers to check out the Soulsborne genre for the first time. That means people unfamiliar with FromSoftware games may be wondering how they can take advantage of Elden Ring‘s deep and varied features. However, these games aren’t exactly known for hand-holding. Players have to figure a lot out for themselves. And that includes many aspects of the Elden Ring‘s UI. One symbol you might have seen appear on your screen is the little blue door. But what is it? What does the blue door icon mean in Elden Ring? Read on to find out…

What does the Blue Door icon mean in Elden Ring?

As mentioned, very little in Elden Ring is clearly explained to you. You’ll spend a lot of time trying to understand what things do, how you can use items, where to go, and what different symbols and icons mean. But that isn’t a bad thing. Many players view it as part of the fun. However, it’s important to recognise prompts from the game and when to take advantage of them. And the blue door/blue archway is one of them. You’ve probably noticed it ‘randomly’ appearing on-screen from time to time. The truth is, though, it’s anything but random.

This is what the Blue Door icon means in Elden Ring. It simply means you can use Spirit Summons (such as Lone Wolf, Skeletal Militiaman, and many more) in that area. Correspondingly, it can also indicate that a boss is nearby – so stay alert.

Now you know what the symbol means, make sure you put your new-found knowledge to use by summoning those spirits!
