Elden Ring is finally here after years of mystery and hype. And praise is pouring in from across the video game industry. Naturally, Elden Ring‘s incredible reception has persuaded lots of gamers to check it out. But the excitement has been stalled by its litany of bugs and glitches. Of course, some play through Elden Ring with minimal issues. However, many players have come across problems. From inconsistent frame rates to save bugs and everything in between. One issue I’ve encountered numerous times myself is a PS5 launch error. When I boot up the game, I’m greeted with the CE-100095-5 error code and a frustrating message. “Can’t start the game or app.” After lots of wasted time and some experimenting, I’ve figured out how to resolve it. It doesn’t get much more annoying than this. You’ve been waiting all day to play a new video game. But when you go to start it, it just doesn’t work. And that’s exactly what happens when you get error CE-100095-5 with Elden Ring. After installing the game and attempting to start, you’ll be greeted by the infuriating “Can’t start the game or app” message. I sat in disbelief when I encountered it, but I did manage to fix the problem.

This is how to fix error CE-100095-5 “Can’t start the game or app” for Elden Ring. You must uninstall and reinstall the game. To do this, find it on the PS5 Home Screen and press the Options button on your controller. Then select ‘Delete’ and confirm ‘OK’. To reinstall the game, eject the disc and reinsert it and installation will begin. This will also re-download and install any updates required. You may need to do this more than once. If you’re experiencing this issue with a digital version of the game, try re-downloading it.

Hopefully that fixes the problem and you can finally enjoy the game. But a quick word of warning. The error may reappear later, even after successfully playing the game numerous times. If it does, you may have to re-install it again. Here’s hoping FromSoftware quickly release an update to resolve the issue for good!
