This guide explains how to complete the Look Out mission for the White Lotus faction in DMZ.
There is a lot to occupy your time with in Call of Duty‘s looter-shooter mode DMZ. Whether it’s dropping in and hunting other squads or simply looking for the most valuable kit, it is easy to sink hundreds of hours into the game. However, one of the most beneficial ways to spend your time is to complete faction missions.
In DMZ, faction missions are activities that you complete to unlock rewards like XP tokens, contraband weapons, and additional insured slots. Of course, you don’t have to do any of these missions if you don’t want to – they’re entirely optional. But completing them gives you access to things that can give you a real edge in the game.
There are four factions in DMZ: Black Mous, White Lotus, Phalanx, and Crown. Each one has its own unique set of tiered missions that you can progress through. These errands take you to each of the four maps in DMZ. So, if you’re wanting to get to know Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, Vondel, or Building 21 better, they’re certainly worth completing.
The Look Out mission for White Lotus takes you to Ashika Island and involves planting a tracking beacon. So, let’s go over how to complete Look Out in DMZ…
Look Out Mission Guide for DMZ
Where to find IR Beacon location in Ashika Island
The first thing you need to do for the Look Out mission is find the IR Beacon. As explained by the mission instructions, it is “located on the rocks off the northern coast of Ashika Island”. Unfortunately, this description is pretty vague and the number of rocks poking out from the sea makes it difficult to know where to go.
This is where to find the IR Beacon in Ashika Island: The IR Beacon is located on the large rock close to the red out-of-bounds area in the northern sea at map coordinates E1. The map and screenshot below shows you exactly where to go and what to look for.
When you get to the rock, climb on top of it and look for the red beacon light, as seen below.
Where to place IR Beacon at Tsuki Castle
Once you have the IR Beacon, you need to place it at Tsuki Castle.
The first thing to be aware of here is that Tsuki Castle is heavily guarded by enemy AI troops. Not only that, but there’s also a Wheelson patrolling the perimeter which packs a tremendous amount of firepower. Be sure to deal with these before you start climbing the castle.
This is where to place the IR Beacon at Tsuki Castle: The beacon must be places at the very top of Tsuki Castle, right on top of the tallest tower. The map and screenshot below shows exactly where to put it.
To get to the tower, go around the back of the castle on the south west side and climb the scaffolding. From here, you can jump onto the roof and run across to the tower. Finally, climb the tiered roof up to the top.
Once you have placed the IR Beacon on top of Tsuki Castle, the Look Out mission is complete.
