DMZ Exfil Tracking: How to plant tracking devices

Players about to drop in in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

This guide explains how to plant tracking devices on exfil choppers in Call of Duty: Warzone DMZ Exfil Tracking mission.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is here at last. And with it comes new DMZ faction missions. These missions offer lucrative prizes (such as keys, blueprints, XP, and more) but include challenging tasks.

In the latest season, Infinity Ward has reset and revamped faction missions. Missions have been introduced which require players to collect new items and travel between the mode’s maps.

One of these missions is Exfil Tracking, which is a Tier 3 mission for the Crown faction. The mission description for Exfil Tracking is as follows:

“Thank you for retrieving those drug bricks for us. The cartel is getting wildly creative these days. Either way this next operation is fairly straight forward. There’s 4 trackers in the south gas station dead drop near the hydroelectric dam in Al Mazrah. Plant them under the wings of 4 exfil helos. We’ll be monitoring where our enemies have setup their FOBs. Remember to be out of sight of enemies. Any slip up and they’ll know our plans.”

Exfil Tracking is split into three objectives. The latter two are the hardest as you need to plant tracking devices on the exfil helos.

So, it’s time to head for an exfil site and get ready.

How to plant tracking devices on exfil choppers (DMZ Exfil Tracking)

As much as it pains me to say it, the only way you’ll be able to complete this mission is by camping at exfil sites.

First, you need to pick a site where the chopper’s wings are reachable. That means you can’t go to any exfil site where the chopper hovers at a cliffside. You won’t be able to plant the tracking devices.

Once you’ve identified a suitable exfil site, it’s time to get camped up. Position yourselves out of view. Ideally, you should have brought sniper rifles with you so you can easily pick off enemy operators from a distance.

Wait for an enemy squad to approach the exfil site. Do not attack before they call in the exfil chopper – this is indicated by the bright green flare above the site.

Once they’ve called it in, it’s time to strike. Take out the enemy squad as quickly as possible.

This is how to plant tracking devices on exfil choppers in DMZ Exfil Tracking mission. Wait for the chopper to arrive and then approach its wings on either the left or right side. Get underneath the wings and a prompt will appear allowing you to plant the tracking device.

You can’t plant the device anywhere else on the chopper, so don’t bother trying. To complete the mission, you’ll need to repeat this twice more. You must then head for the final exfil chopper and plant a tracker on that before escaping on it.
