It’s that time of the month. PlayStation Plus subscribers are starting to wonder what are December 2021 PlayStation Plus games? And now we have the (rumoured) answer. Dealabs user Billbil-Kun shared the names of December’s three freebies online, having correctly predicted PS Plus titles for the last three months.

This newest leak comes after months of disappointment on the part of PS Plus subscribers. Many feel routinely let down by Sony’s monthly offerings, and have been voicing their frustrations online. Our Instagram comments alone have been packed full of you lot letting us know how rubbish you think the most recent free games are. With that being said, what are the PS Plus free games for December 2021?

December 2021 PlayStation Plus Games – What are they?

PlayStation Plus subscribers will reportedly receive the following games next month, as leaked by Billbil-Kun:

Godfall Challenger Edition (PS4/PS5)

You might remember Godfall as the first game to be announced for the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectations that came along with it. Godfall was met with a VERY average reception at launch, and we’ve not heard much about it since. However, it’s been available for over a year now, so perhaps developer Counterplay Games have managed to make it a better, more memorable experience.

Its official synopsis on the PlayStation Store describes it as a “looter-slasher, set in a bright fantasy universe filled with heroic knights and arcane magic.” It also promises players will “Embark on adventure in a fantasy action RPG that utilizes high-impact third-person melee combat to engage players as they hunt for loot, don legendary armor sets and defeat vicious enemies. Face challenging missions that reward you with head-turning loot as you vanquish the armies that stand against you.”

It’s unclear exactly what the ‘Challenger Edition’ of Godfall is, as this is the first we’re hearing about it. Although you can logically expect it’ll be an enhanced and/or expanded version of the game.

Mortal Shell (PS4)

Mortal Shell is another action RPG, and might be well worth a try if you’re a Soulsborne fan. The game has been described as a budget Dark Souls, and sees players controlling “shell” characters each with their own playstyles. Mortal Shell‘s official website states: “Mortal Shell is a deep action-RPG that tests your sanity and resilience in a shattered world. Combat is strategic, deliberate, and unforgiving.”

Players are encouraged to “Inhabit these Mortal Shells and open your understanding to their unique masteries of combat.” Sounds intriguing – we reckon Mortal Shell could be the highlight of December’s PlayStation Plus games.

Lego DC Super-Villains (PS4) – December 2021 PlayStation Plus Games

As is obvious from its name, Lego DC Super-Villains is a Lego game. And if you’ve ever played a Lego game before, you’ll know what you’re in for. Silly fun with iconic characters from a popular franchise that’s appropriate for all ages. This time round, it’s all about the bad guys from the DC Universe. Play by yourself or in two-player co-op and you’re sure to get some enjoyment out of it, especially if you’re a DC fan.
