This guide explains how to power and unlock Maintenance Bay Office door in Dead Space remake.
Fifteen years since the launch of the original game, the Dead Space remake has arrived on consoles and PC. The new game resurrects the series with modern graphics and refined gameplay. But the terrifying horror remains.
Dead Space follows protagonist Isaac Clarke after he and his crew become stranded on the USG Ishimura while answering a distress call. Once onboard, they discover that murderous creatures – Necromorphs – have taken over the spaceship and are murdering the surviving crew.
In the game, Isaac must fight for survival and find a way off of the doomed ship. However, first he needs to find his girlfriend, Nicole, who happens to be the Ishimura’s chief medical officer.
Players must complete a series of tasks to fix various aspects of the Ishimura’s crumbling infrastructure. And one recurring task is the powering up of doors and machines.
Due to power outages, numerous doors on the Ishimura are now locked. That means players can’t access what’s behind them until power is restored.
These locked doors are a key element of the game’s puzzle-solving. Alone, they wouldn’t be particularly tricky. However, the terror of Dead Space and its monsters makes puzzle-solving disorientating and challenging.
One such locked door requiring power is the Maintenance Bay Office door. Keep reading to find out how to power the Maintenance Bay Office door in Dead Space.
How To Power Maintenance Bay Office Door in Dead Space
As mentioned, players won’t just have puzzles to contend with when powering locked doors. Necromorphs are constantly on the hunt. The lights may be out. Distant bangs and eerie voices may be distracting you.
This adds a distinct element of pressure to the task which can make things far harder than they would otherwise be. Thankfully, once you know what to do with locked doors in Dead Space, fixing future ones should be more straightforward.
This is how to power the Maintenance Bay Office door in Dead Space. Next to the door is a glowing red cable running up the wall. This gives an indication of where you need to go. Go left from the door and run across the short bridge over to an elevator.
Use the elevator to go up to the floor above. Exit the elevator and you will see the red cable ahead running along the wall. Go straight ahead and then turn right across another bridge. You will see a Circuit Breaker ahead.
Use this to divert power to the Maintenance Bay Office and unlock the door. Interact with the Circuit Breaker and you will see three options. “Maintenance Room”, “Lights”, and “Elevators”. However, you can only provide power to two of them. Ensure power is provided to the “Maintenance Room” and “Elevators”.
This will turn off the lights. You need the elevator to get back to the room, so you have no other option. Inside the Maintenance Bay Office is the Data Board you need to progress the game.
