So, CD Projekt Red are about to release the first batch of Cyberpunk 2077 DLC (downloadable content). And, just like the game on release, it has left fans disappointed.
After big promises in their content roadmap, CD Projekt Red devs took to the company’s official Twitch channel to walk interested viewers through what to expect from upcoming patch 1.3. Alongside that, they revealed the new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC that will be free to everyone who downloads the new patch. Clearly, the aim here was to sweeten the deal and entice players into installing version 1.3. However, it resulted in another resounding flop for the once beloved developer.
Cyberpunk 2077 DLC
So, why has the new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC announcement inspired such feelings of dissatisfaction? Well, it consists of a couple of new jackets, an alternative look for Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand, and a new car. That’s it.
Why CD Projekt Red felt the need to announce the new lacklustre content on Twitch is anyone’s guess. Surely they knew it wasn’t anything to write home about. And if they didn’t, they do now thanks to Twitch users who were eager to express their disappointment in the stream’s comments.
Whether you’ve persevered with Cyberpunk 2077 and actually sunk some hours into it or not, this won’t be surprising news. It took a whopping six months for the game to finally be re-released for PS4 players on the PlayStation Store. And despite that, Sony are still advising players not to play it on base model consoles.
This DLC is yet more proof that CDPR cannot get it right with Cyberpunk 2077. Hopefully, future DLC will be a bit more substantial than what’s been delivered here nine months after release.
Patch 1.3
Patch 1.3 is expected to address a number of issues that have plagued the game since release, as well as a few quality improvements. For example, the mini-map will now expand when you enter vehicles to help with navigation.

Cyberpunk 2077 Next-Gen Upgrade
On top of future DLC, CD Projekt Red promised gamers a free next-gen upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 in the latter half of 2021. As of writing, we’re yet to be told anything further. No specific release date for the next-gen upgrades has been given.
If their track record is anything to go by, we’d say it’s unlikely the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will release in 2021. But hopefully, CDPR will prove us wrong.
