This Cult of the Lamb guide answers the question “what is a follower form?”.
Cult of the Lamb is the new rogue-like action-adventure game from Australian developers Massive Monster. Its unique cult-building premise, charming art-style, and aptly crazy story has skyrocketed it to the top of video game charts.
In the game, players control a lamb who is sacrificed by four heretic prophets. The lamb is then resurrected by a malevolent deity named “The One Who Waits” and instructed to start a cult in his honour.
The game interlaces rogue-like action sequences with village building akin to Animal Crossing. Along the way, players convert new followers to their cult and must maintain their faith and quality of life.
Faith is managed through a variety of cult traditions like rituals, sacrifice, worship, and issuing religious doctrine. All in all, it makes for a wonderfully unique and messed-up experience that’s hugely rewarding and addictive.
However, the game is quite complex and there’s a lot to wrap your head around. As a result, players have a lot of questions about how things work in Cult of the Lamb.
As you progress through the game, you come across a huge variety of collectibles. Often, you will have to pick between two or three different types of collectible as a reward.
One such collectible type is ‘Follower Forms’. As the name suggests, they’re a type of reward related to your Cult’s followers. But exactly what they are isn’t made that clear.
So, let’s answer the question “what is a follower form?” and look at whether they’re worth picking as a reward…
What Is a Follower Form in Cult of the Lamb
As you gather more and more followers, you will notice it can become difficult to distinguish between them. Thankfully, that’s where Follower Forms come in.
Not only are they useful, they’re also a great way inject a bit of personality into your Cult followers.
So, what is a Follower Form in Cult of the Lamb? Follower Forms are alternative skins/cosmetics for your followers. When you indoctrinate a new follower, you are able to customise their appearance with the Follower Forms you have unlocked.
As mentioned, Follower Forms are particularly useful for telling your individual followers apart. But are they worth picking as a reward over something else?
As Follower Forms are purely cosmetic, it’s not worth picking them as quest/run rewards in the early game. Instead, you’re better off opting for valuable resources like gold, wood, or plant seeds.
Only start collecting the Forms after you’ve gotten yourself a nice pool of resources.
