Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II marks the most significant leap forward in the series since 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot.

And while players have had more than a month to get to grips with it, there is lots that has changed.

Season 01 recently kicked off and with it came further changes to the new CoD. Perhaps most notably, it was headlined by the launch of Warzone 2.0.

Gone are Verdansk and Caldera. Now fans have Al Mazrah to explore. And not only that – Warzone 2.0 is a fundamentally different game to its predecessor.

New features include a 2v2 Gulag, Circle Collapse, different vehicles, and a dedicated 3rd person playlist. On top of that, Warzone 2.0 is also features the brand-new DMZ mode – Call of Duty‘s take on Escape from Tarkov.

With the start of Season 01 also came the launch of Modern Warfare II‘s first Battle Pass. And the Battle Pass has changed, too. Gone are straightforward tiers. In are ‘Sectors’, which feature five unlockables each.

Players no longer progress through the Battle Pass as if it were a simple levelling-up system. Instead, the new Battle Pass uses tokens and players get to choose what they spend their tokens on.

Tokens are earned in the same way you level up and unlock new gear – by playing the game.

However, the new Battle Pass system isn’t without problems. Most notably is an issue related to tokens. Sometimes, they simply don’t appear in the Battle Pass screen even though you’ve earned them.

This prevents you from unlocking rewards in the Battle Pass.

When you earn a token, you want to spend it. That’s a given. Unfortunately, it isn’t always that simple in Modern Warfare 2.

At the end of each game in multiplayer or Warzone, you will be shown your progress towards earning a Battle Pass token. You’ll often be glad to see you’ve banked a token, only to be disappointed when you can’t spend it because it has disappeared.

Thankfully, this is an easy problem to resolve.
