The whole Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign will be available to play over a week before its official release date. Now, you’re probably thinking this will only be available to top CoD influencers and streamers.

But it’ll actually be accessible to everyone – with one relatively minor catch.

So, allow us to explain CoD MW2 Campaign Early Access and how you can play the full single-player story mode before the game’s launch in late-October…

What is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign about?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2‘s campaign picks up right where the previous instalment in Infinity Ward’s popular sub-series left off.

Task Force 141 will return including Captain John Price, Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley, and Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish.

A new team member will also be joining the squad in MW2 – Colonel Alejandro Vargas. Activision describe him as “an incorruptible Tier 1 Operator and member of the Mexican Special Forces.”

In the campaign, Task Force 141 “faces its greatest threat yet”. If that isn’t vague enough for you, Activision say this threat is a “newly aligned menace with deep, yet unknown connections.”

The single-player story will also feature missions in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. In terms of what you’ll be getting up to in this globe-trotting adventure, Modern Warfare II will include:

“Offshore sieges with underwater combat, all-out explosive assaults from 30,000 feet above enemy strongholds, and high-stakes, low-profile stealth missions in both plain sight and under the cover of darkness.”

How long is COD MW2 campaign?

We don’t know exactly how long Modern Warfare II‘s campaign is. However, Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard each had campaigns that lasted for around 6 hours.

It’s reasonable to expect that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II‘s campaign will be a similar length.
