CoD DMZ player pulls off unbelievable fake exfil trick

Call of Duty: Warzone and DMZ regularly provide incredible gameplay clips for players to enjoy. Whether it’s a single player wiping a whole squad or somebody pulling off a big brain move, they are always exciting to watch. Now, one DMZ player has successfully tricked an enemy player into believing they are one of the game’s AI-controlled exfil choppers before mercilessly finishing them off.

In DMZ, players drop into Al Mazrah and Ashika Island with the objective of procuring valuable loot, completing missions, and defeating other Operators. When you’ve done what you went in to do or the time limit approaches zero, you must successfully call in an exfil chopper and safely leave the area. Often, there’s hot competition around the exfils that can lead to high-tension gun fights.

Posting their clip to the r/DMZ subreddit, user u/RamonvG98 showed how they successfully posed as one of the game’s exfil choppers, picked up an unsuspecting player, and then sneakily killed them. It is safe to say the other player will have been absolutely fuming at the deception.

In the video, RamonvG98 waits near an exfil site with DMZ’s pilot-able heavy chopper. When the other player sends up the flair to call in the exit aircraft, he springs into action and lands his chopper on the exfil instead. The duped player can then be seen running to the cargo door at the back of Ramonv’s chopper expecting that it is their ticket out of Al Mazrah.

Once the other Operator is on-board, Ramonv flies the copper into the air, exits the cockpit, and darts the player in the back with a throwing knife before finishing them off. The play is executed to perfection and has to be one of the smartest that has come out of DMZ since its launch.

In the comments, the community shared their thoughts on the clip. u/Incolumis wrote, “Brilliant!”. Another said, “this was really something else”.

DMZ player u/ColdCobra7 explained that they have had a team try (and fail) to pull the trick on them. They said: “Ha, had a team tried that on me. As a solo player I stay further away to safely watch the area. When I saw the chopper come in, I knew it was little too soon, and didn’t fly straight in as it normally did. I said nice try as I quickly drove off with a car. They were all laughing too.. Good fun.”

Others were in disbelief that the unwitting player fell for the ruse at all. “Yeah, I don’t understand how anyone falls for that. Ever. Like, the chopper came too soon, there’s no dialogue saying they’re landing….there’s no countdown……and for f***’s sake, the helicopter is red on the map,” said u/NitelifeCommando.

Regardless, the clever ploy made for one of the best DMZ plays in the game’s short history.
