**UPDATE** (Original story follows)

Microsoft has officially confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one.

In a blog post, the company said: “We’re excited to confirm that Game Pass members will be able to jump into Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 on day one with Game Pass.”

A notification from the official Xbox Game Pass app has seemingly confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available via Game Pass on launch day.

The notification – which reads “Just announced: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming to Game Pass on day one later this year” – doesn’t lead anywhere, however.

It appears to have been issued by mistake and was likely sent prematurely. Despite this, it has long been rumoured that the next CoD will come to Game Pass so it stands to reason that the notification is accurate.

Naturally, Call of Duty fans on social media were quick to pick up on the ‘announcement’ and it is now widely assumed that official (and properly timed) confirmation is imminent.

Black Ops 6 is already subject to significant speculation online, with theories about its setting and missions being widespread. Some even believe the game will include a 9/11-related mission, similar to the infamous “No Russian” level.

We also know the game will be released for last-gen consoles, which is good news for the large number of CoD players still active on older platforms.

Exactly what this means for Black Ops 6 on PlayStation is unclear. Although fans can reasonably expect it to be released at full price on PS4 and PS5, while being significantly cheaper on Xbox thanks to Game Pass.
