We are weeks away from the reveal of this year’s Call of Duty title, but that hasn’t stopped a reputable leaker and their collaborator from sharing details of future CoD titles.

Leaker and dataminer VISCERAL (@zvis_ceral) and @Vondyispog took to X to reveal information on two upcoming Call of Duty titles that they claim will follow this year’s Black Ops 6.

According to the pair, 2026’s game will be a Call of Duty: Ghosts reboot and prequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare. It is reportedly being developed by Infinity Ward under the codename “Project Devilwood”.

Call of Duty 2027, known as “Project Anvil”, is being developed by Sledgehammer Games. It will supposedly be a new entry in the Advanced Warfare sub-series that has been dormant since 2011.

Vondy explained that both games are “adaptations to the new storyline” established in 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot.

They also appeared to confirm that 2026’s Ghosts reboot will feature additional backstory for Ghost and Mace.

As of writing, nothing has been officially confirmed about either game. We’ll likely be waiting until next summer for any concrete information from Activision, so take all these rumours with a pinch of salt until then.

The next Call of Duty game, rumoured to be Black Ops 6, is reportedly set to be revealed at the Xbox Showcase on 9 June.

UPDATE 14 May 2024

Since this article was originally published, VISCERAL has confirmed that the information they shared is inaccurate.

In a tweet, they wrote: “The Projects [sic] names are 100% mixed up… I cant tell you 100% right now if these settings happen or not. Time will tell. A reliable Journalist helped in the background clarifying things.”

VISCERAL’s information gained traction thanks to their reputation as a reliable leaker that has previously been cited by publications such as Insider Gaming and VGC.

As I mentioned, it’s always best to take information like this with a pinch of salt.
