Who Makes Blight: Survival?
Blight: Survival is being made by new developer Haenir Studio.
According to their Steam catalogue, Blight: Survival is their first game. Although, it goes without saying that the developers themselves likely have experience from elsewhere.
Still, with Blight being Haenir Studio’s first game, it’s difficult to know what to expect from the finished product.
According to its LinkedIn profile, the studio is based in Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland, and has 2-10 employees.
For such a small team, early footage of Blight: Survival is certainly impressive.
What Is Blight: Survival About?
One of the most interesting aspects of Blight: Survival is its genre-blending concept. It is a medieval zombie action-horror game.
Its official Steam listing explains: “Blight: Survival is an upcoming medieval, co-operative, action-horror roguelite set in an alternate 14th century.”
From the gameplay trailer, it looks like a mysterious disease called the “Blight” has torn through the world. Enemies appear to be zombie-like creatures that have returned from the dead.
The player can dispatch them with a variety of brutal medieval weaponry.
Does It Use Unreal Engine 5?
Blight: Survival looks great. And that’s caused many to ask if it uses Unreal Engine 5.
From what most sources are saying, the game does run on Unreal Engine 5. And it shows. Blight: Survival‘s visuals captures the visceral, brutal reality of an alternate 14th century ripped apart by a zombie plague.
Will Blight: Survival Be On PS5 and Xbox?
One of the big questions interested fans are asking is; “Will Blight: Survival Be On PS5 and Xbox?”
At present, it doesn’t look like Blight: Survival will be coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X on release. It has only been confirmed for PC.
However, it is still entirely possible that after an initial PC release, Blight: Survival will eventually come to consoles. If the game is a significant success, a console release may be inevitable.

Developer Haenir Studio are yet to confirm the Blight: Survival release date. It is simply listed as “Coming Soon” on Steam.
The recent trailer stated it was pre-alpha gameplay. That means the game is still quite early in development.
Nevertheless, a late 2023 release date could be possible. However, a 2024 launch seems much more likely given Blight: Survival‘s current state of development.
