Should I watch Better Call Saul before Breaking Bad?

I recommend watching Breaking Bad first. Better Call Saul is a prequel that takes place before the events of Breaking Bad. Season 1 of Better Call Saul begins in 2002, while Breaking Bad‘s first season is set in 2008. However, watching Better Call Saul is not essential to understanding the plot of Breaking Bad. The original series features a story that is fantastic on its own. The background and context Better Call Saul provides to some of its predecessor’s events and characters undoubtedly adds a lot, but this can’t be appreciated as much if you haven’t already seen Breaking Bad.

How many Breaking Bad seasons?

Breaking Bad ran for a total of five seasons between January 2008 and September 2013. Like Better Call Saul‘s sixth and final season, Breaking Bad‘s last outing was also split into two parts. Season 5 Part 1 began airing in July 2012 and concluded that September. Part 2 followed in August 2013 and ended in September 2013.
