We can all agree that Battle Rage is a pretty useless field upgrade in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone. However, the Modern Warfare III showcase event showed off a dramatically overpowered version of Battle Rage that had people concerned for the upcoming MW3 beta.

For those who don’t know, Battle Rage gives players faster health regeneration and movement for a brief period. In MW2, it never really took off with players thanks to its effects being fairly negligible.

X (formerly Twitter) user @NerosCinema shared a clip of streamer and e-sports competitor Shotzzy using Battle Rage during the MW3 showcase event. In the short video, Shotzzy takes a total of 21 shots from an enemy Operator in approximately 8 seconds but doesn’t die.

Normally, this would be enough to put any player down. However, thanks to the benefits of the improved Battle Rage, Shotzzy’s health never dropped below half.

NerosCinema tagged Sledgehammer Games and said that Battle Rage needed an immediate nerf. Other viewers agreed, including popular Call of Duty fan account @ModernWarzone.

Thankfully, Slegehammer Games has confirmed that Battle Rage will be rebalanced for the upcoming beta which launches later today, 6 October.

“Tomorrow, in the #MW3 Multiplayer Beta, players will experience tuning for Battle Rage that is in-line with our current vision for launch but wasn’t present in today’s showcase event,” Sledgehammer explained.

So, players can rest assured that the short lived, overpowered version of Battle Rage will receive a much needed nerf in time for the MW3 beta over the weekend.
