The trailers for Resident Evil Village had people talking. And, for some, it wasn’t the game itself that they were excited about. Instead, attention was focussed squarely on the vampire “milk mommy” herself, Lady Dimitrescu. Mundfish’s Atomic Heart is due out next month; however, like Resi 8, it’s the Robot Twins that have caught some fans’ eyes.

In case you don’t know, let’s go over what you can expect from the upcoming action RPG.

Atomic Heart takes place in an alternate history Soviet Union. In this timeline, the USSR defeated Nazi Germany in 1941 thanks to early advances in robotics. A miraculous piece of technology called “Polymer” made it all possible.

Invented by scientist Dmitry Sechenov, Polymer spearheaded a robotic revolution that led to robots and humanoid automatons becoming commonplace.

Alongside Polymer, Sechenov developed a neural-network to link all robots – Collectiv 1.0.

Atomic Heart gets underway in 1955, when Sechenov is in the process of launching Colleciv 2.0, nicknamed “Thought”. Thought links human consciousness with the Collectiv AI via an implant. Through it, people can access super-human learning capabilities.

However, things go badly wrong and haywire robots overrun Sechenov’s research base, Facility 3826. This leads to a bloody massacre and protagonist Major Nechaev AKA “P-3” is dispatched to deal with the escalating situation.

Along the way, P-3 must deal with hordes of robotic adversaries – including the Robot Twins.

So, who are the Atomic Heart Robot Twins and what do we know about them?

Who Are The Atomic Heart Robot Twins?

Facility 3826 is a large open world base with many secrets to discover. Atomic Heart will take you all over the facility and you’ll fight various different robots as you progress. This includes boss-level automatons that are significantly stronger than others.

Sechenov is something of a polymath with his fingers in many different pies. Facility 3826 contains his research into botany and space. But his primary focus is robotics.

As a result, it only makes sense that Sechenov has created the most powerful and advanced robots for himself. And that’s where Atomic Heart‘s Robot Twins come in.

Who are the Atomic Heart Robot Twins? The Twins are a pair of advanced humanoid robots with a distinctly feminine appearance. Head roboticist Dmitry Sechenov uses the ballerina-like duo as his personal security. They are equipped with lethal state-of-the-art technology.

The Robot Twins were heavily featured in the Atomic Heart Gamescon 2022 combat trailer. In it, we saw the pair connect in a somewhat sexualised manner.

One of the Twins produces a connector from its head before inserting it into her companion’s stomach. They then produce what appears to be two identical weapons.

Unfortunately, that’s all we know about Atomic Heart‘s Robot Twins right now. But we’re excited for the game’s release on 21 February to find out more!
