The physical edition of Astro Bot will come with a number of pre-order bonuses including a poster that is full of cool PlayStation easter eggs paying tribute to landmark games in the history of Sony’s console.

On 30 May, it was revealed that Astro Bot, Sony’s robotic PlayStation mascot, is getting their very own standalone game. The platformer is scheduled for release on 6 September 2024 and will expand on the world introduced in the PS5’s pre-installed demo, Astro’s Playroom.

Astro’s Playroom was partly a trip down memory lane that paid tribute to many prominent games of the past, as well as the consoles that preceded the PS5.

To accompany the physical version of Astro Bot, buyers who pre-order the game will receive a limited edition poster that has more than a few references for PlayStation fans to look out for.

Included in the poster are: an Astro Bot hiding inside one of Metal Gear Solid‘s cardboard boxes (as well as the iconic ‘orange’ box from MGS2), a wumpa fruit from Crash Bandicoot, the PS3’s XMB icons and infamous boomerang controller prototype, a monkey helmet from Ape Escape, an origami figure from Heavy Rain, a duck from Super Rub ‘a’ Dub, and many more.

On X, PlayStation fans have been dissecting the poster for every easter egg they can find.

You can check the poster out, as well as the other pre-order bonuses, over on the official PlayStation Blog.

While the poster doesn’t do anything to enhance the game itself, it’ll be a nice addition to any diehard PlayStation fan’s gaming setup.

The Physical Edition pre-order also comes with the PaRappa Lovestruck Lyricist outfit, Glorious Graffiti Dual Speeder paint colour, and 2 Astro Avatars.
