It has been a long wait for AEW Fight Forever. The pro wrestling game was first announced on 10th November 2020 as part of an AEW Games Special Event. Its launch is now right around the corner and it will be released on 29th June 2023. But central to any wrestling game is its match types. So, what match types will be available in AEW Fight Forever?

Match types in wrestling games can range from basic singles matches to buried alive matches (and everything in between). And, over the last two decades, WWE wrestling games have featured almost every type of match imaginable.

AEW and developer Yuke’s wanted to create “an arcade experience that was fun, easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master.” According to AEW’s Kenny Omega, AEW Fight Forever is just that. But what does this mean for the game’s match types? Can players expect a long list of old school favourites along with more recent AEW creations?

Below is the full list of confirmed match types in AEW’s first officially licensed video game.
