Abandoned developer Blue Box Game Studios should’ve put speculation to bed yesterday. But the confusion surrounding the mysterious survival horror game continues. Blue Box allowed players to pre-load the Abandoned PS5 app on 29th July. They promised an ‘introduction’ (opening teaser) would then follow on 10th August. And after months of rumours and supposed conspiracy, intrigued gamers were desperate for clarity. However, Blue Box Game Studios once again failed to deliver resulting in an Abandoned PS5 delay.

The delay is far from ideal for both players and Blue Box. For months, Silent Hill and Hideo Kojima fans have theorised that Abandoned could actually be the long-awaited Silent Hills (despite the studio’s claims to the contrary). And while promoting last month’s app pre-load, Blue Box shared an image hinting at a Metal Gear connection. So, what caused the Abandoned PS5 delay and are we any closer to finding out what the game actually is?

Abandoned PS5 delay: Why was Abandoned trailer delayed?

As the minutes turned into hours, it was apparent the developer was struggling to fix the issue. Twitter users were constantly refreshing the Abandoned trailers app and checking for new updates, but nothing materialised. They were simply greeted with an off-centre “Check back soon..” message when loading the app.

When will the Abandoned teaser trailer be released?

With this frustrating delay, it’s unclear when the “Realtime Experience” teaser will be released. Blue Box Game Studios are still working to fix the problem as of Wednesday 11th August. As far as when that fix will arrive, the studio had this to say on Twitter…

Curiously, Blue Box shared what looked like a clip from the teaser in the run up to the 21:00 CET deadline. And they were once again teasing Silent Hill. Could it be any more blatant? Check out how similar it is to the Silent Hills teaser from 2014…
