Few games have made an impact like Call of Duty: Warzone has over the last two years. It was a staple of lockdown-era gaming and it remains a tremendous success. And now we know the CoD Warzone 2 release date – if a new leak is to be believed.
While Warzone has been a mega-hit, it has certainly had its fair share of issues. From countless bugs and glitches to aggressive monetisation to ongoing complaints about skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) and everything in between. It has been a bumpy ride for fans of CoD‘s battle royale.
That’s why so many players have high hopes for the next iteration of Warzone. It was first hinted at by Activision back in February. Official confirmation following in June and it was named as ‘Warzone 2.0‘.
Exactly how Warzone 2.0 will improve on its predecessor is unclear. We know it’ll feature a brand new map, but that’s about it. But seeing as it is wiping the slate clean alongside the launch of Modern Warfare II, it’s safe to assume Warzone 2.0 will be unencumbered by the bloat of the current Warzone.
A key question on the minds of all Warzone players has been its follow-up’s release date. We know Modern Warfare II will arrive on October 28th 2022. And Activision has stated its battle royale counterpart will follow soon after.
However, no official date has been given. But we now have our first indication of when CoD Warzone 2 will be released, thanks to the good folks on Reddit.
CoD Warzone 2 release date
Renowned Call of Duty news site CharlieIntel noticed a surprise Reddit post featuring a leaked internal document. It was posted on the r/classicwow subreddit, and CharlieIntel shared a picture of the doc on Twitter.
So, when is the CoD Warzone 2 release date? The leaked internal document has the game’s release scheduled for November 16th 2022.
And while all leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt, this does correspond with Activision’s earlier confirmation that Warzone 2.0 will launch shortly after Modern Warfare II.
Unfortunately, this leak hasn’t prompted Activision into making an official announcement. And the authenticity of the leaked document hasn’t been confirmed.
But it certainly seems like a realistic release date for the game. However, pending an official announcement from Activision, we’ll have to wait and see if CoD Warzone 2 actually materialises on November 16th.

What about a new trailer for Warzone 2? Has Activision shared any footage of the new battle royale experience yet? Sadly not – no footage or trailers have been released.
Thankfully, this likely isn’t far off. The launch of Modern Warfare II is rapidly approaching – and capitalising on the hype for that game by promoting Warzone 2 at the same time seems like a no-brainer.
