This Stray guide explains how to stop the fan in the Dead City chapter of the game.

Stray is finally here after months of anticipation. And it hasn’t disappointed.

The new game from BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive delivers a puzzle packed adventure where you control a cat on his mission to reunite with his family.

He joins up with robot drone B-12 and the two must work together to open a sealed city and save its robot inhabitants.

Stray offers everything you could want from a game where you play as a cat. Run, jump, scratch – it’s all here. And it’s great fun.

The cat’s adventure in Stray involves solving puzzles every step of the way. Some are easy while others can leave you stuck and testing the limits of your brain power.

One of the early puzzles you come up against in Stray is stopping a spinning fan that blocks your path.

As you will be unfamiliar with the game’s mechanics at this early stage, you might find yourself stuck.

Let’s look at how to stop the fan in the Dead City chapter of Stray

How to stop the fan in Stray – Dead City chapter

Early on in the Dead City chapter you will encounter a fan that the cat needs to get past.

When you enter the area, you are on a lower level with large pipework and scattered metallic buckets. On the next level, there is the fan. This can be reached by climbing up the pipework.

This is how to stop the fan in Stray Dead City chapter: Pick up a bucket (Triangle on PS4/PS5) and carry it up to the fan. When close enough, the bucket will wedge in the blades and stop it the fan from spinning.

Once the blades have stopped spinning, you can go through the fan and into the next section of the game.
