With successful remakes of both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 in the books, rumours have long been swirling that a Resident Evil 4 remake will be next. Logically, it makes sense. Both previous remakes have been hugely successful for Capcom. And, per Metacritic, the original Resident Evil 4 is the most highly regarded game in the series. Even so, Capcom are yet to officially confirm the expected RE4 remake. But that hasn’t stopped a new and significant leak finding its way online.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Leak

Voice actor D. C. Douglas, whose previous credits include Albert Wesker in Resident Evil 5, has allegedly shared concept art of Wesker in the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake. Twitter user @BewareCreepyVAs managed to screenshot the RE4 remake concept art and shared it to Twitter. They also posted screenshots of private messages in which Douglas asked a user not to share the image as he was under a non-disclosure agreement. Douglas wrote, “Again – DO NOT SHARE – I could get sued.”

The authenticity of the image is uncertain. Although, given Douglas’ previous work as Wesker, his involvement makes sense. And with that, he would likely have access to certain materials relating to the character including, presumably, concept art. Why he would break an NDA is anyone’s guess. Either way, he has since deleted his Twitter account.

On a related note, @BewareCreepyVAs has previously shared screenshots of D.C. Douglas allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to fans on social media.

RE4 Remake Release Date

Despite sources close to the project saying that the Resident Evil 4 remake is in the works, it hasn’t been officially confirmed. As a result, Capcom are yet to reveal a release date.

The project is reportedly being led by M-Two, a new company headed by Tatsuya Minami, formerly of Platinum Games. M-Two took part in the Resident Evil 3 remake alongside the main developer, Red Works.

Resident Evil 4 will presumably be remade for the same platforms as Resident Evil Village. That means it will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
