A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, a video game spin-off of the horror film series, has been announced for the PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.

Developed by Saber Interactive (World War Z, Evil Dead: The Game, WWE 2K Battlegrounds), The Road Ahead, like the films, takes place in a world overrun with an invasive extraterrestrial species with an acute sense of hearing and a deadly appetite for humans.

To coincide with the announcement, a reveal trailer built using the in-game engine provided a glimpse of what players can expect when the game launches later this year.

The trailer starts out with an unknown individual hiding inside the office of an abandoned factory building. They crouch behind a desk, look inside a drawer and find a flashlight.

Using the flashlight, they look around and find a power switch. Turning it on fires up a generator attracting one of the creatures (sometimes referred to as ‘Death Angels’) which promptly destroys everything in its path. Our protagonist hides behind a wall out-of-view and takes a hit from their inhaler.

They then move into the factory while using some kind of microphone device to keep track of the noise they’re making. Unfortunately, they step on some broken glass which crunches underfoot and attracts one of the creatures which barrels towards them as the screen cuts to black.

It’s terrifying stuff and very much in-keeping with the movies. The official description reads: “The road ahead is paced with sound decisions. Prepare to survive a world of gripping atmosphere and frantic terror, where the smallest sound can spell disaster.”

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is scheduled to arrive on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S in 2024.
