Every month, PlayStation Plus subscribers wait with baited breath to see which games they’ll be getting for free. Some months are better than others. And this month, subscribers are getting one of the biggest games in the world: EA Sports FC 24.

The complete offering – which will be available for free as part of the PlayStation Plus Essential package from 7 May – includes: EA Sports FC 24 (PS4PS5), Ghostrunner 2 (PS5), Tunic (PS4, PS5) and Destiny 2: Lightfall (PS4, PS5).

EA Sports FC 24 is the first game since the FIFA rebrand. It includes HyperMotion V which replicates real-life movements captured from 180 professional football matches. EA FC 24 also includes the all-new Playstyles feature which emphasises individual players’ unique attributes.

PlayStation Plus subscribers will also be able to claim the PlayStation Plus Football Ultimate Team Starter Pack. This includes 11 untradeable players with a rating of 82 or higher, plus a single football legend as an Icon Loan Player Pick available for seven games.

Ghostrunner 2 is an action platform game that launched in October 2023 that features first person gameplay similar to Mirror’s Edge. It was well received by critics with a score of 80/100 on Metacritic.

Tunic came out back in 2022 and follows an anthropomorphic fox on an adventure to a fox spirit trapped inside a crystal. The game has an isometric perspective and a beautiful art-style that many will find endearing.

The final offering, Destiny 2: Lightfall, is a major expansion for Destiny 2 which will be of huge interest to existing players. Subscribers must also own the base game to take advantage of this DLC freebie.

April’s PlayStation Plus games – Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends, and Skul: The Hero Slayer – can be added to your game catalogue until 6 May.
