This Helldivers 2 guide explains how to complete the Rescue Science Teams mission.
It’s safe to say that Helldivers 2 has captured the hearts of gamers everywhere. It delivers a rewarding and challenging cooperative experience, with a focus on completing various missions and campaigns together.
It also features nine difficulty levels which up the ante as you progress. In order to unlock additional difficulty levels, players must complete a collection of missions known as an Operation.
However, there is one mission type in particular that players are routinely getting stuck on. That is the Rescue Science Teams mission.
During these missions, players are deployed onto a small map and must escort scientists to a safe area while fending off hordes of Automatons.
It has been described as the hardest mission type in the game, with innumerable amounts of enemies spawning in and attacking.
Eventually, your squad can become so overwhelmed with enemies that it is impossible to complete. This has left players wondering if it’s actually possible to beat the mission on higher difficulties.
Thankfully, there is a specific strategy you can employ to help make things a lot easier.
How to complete Rescue Science Teams mission in Helldivers 2
To complete Rescue Science Teams missions in Helldivers 2, be sure to have at least three players in your squad.
Once you have deployed into the mission, immediately open as many doors for the scientists as possible before any enemies appear. This will rescue a good number of scientists before you come under attack.
Enemies will soon spawn in. As soon as this happens, two members of your squad should leave the area and go to the outskirts of the map. One player should remain with the scientists.
The player tasked with rescuing the scientists should refrain from shooting enemies and avoid drawing attention to themselves.
This should ensure the enemies will focus on the players running around on the outskirts of the map. In turn, this will allow one player to work on rescuing the scientists with minimal distractions.
If done correctly, you will soon have rescued all the scientists needed to complete the mission.
If you also want to minimise the number of enemies spawning in, the two players distracting the Automatons can team up to use and rapidly reload the Recoilless Rife. This weapon can be used to destroy Automaton dropships – all you need to do is shoot the thrusters and they will immediately blow up.
Have one player equip the rifle and another equip its ammunition backpack to reload it almost instantly.
And there you have it – that’s how to easily complete Rescue Science Teams missions in Helldivers 2.
