Dragon Age: Origins remake in the works, claims 4chan leaker

Still from Dragon Age: Origins

A 4chan leaker with doubtable veracity has claimed that a remake of 2009’s Dragon Age: Origins is in the works at BioWare, presumably for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The leaker, who claims they are an alpha tester for the game, says the remake will be titled “Dragon Age: Reorigins”. They also shared a screenshot of some artwork which contained the title.

The original Dragon Age: Origins received critical acclaim when it was released. It went on to sell more than 3 million copies. It was then followed by two sequels, Dragon Age II and Inquisition, both of which were also well received.

This new remake is apparently “very early in production”, according to the leaker. They claim it will be a 1:1 remake akin to last year’s Dead Space remake, with changes focussing on gameplay design rather than the game’s story.

Still from Dragon Age: Origins

They say that the main aim of the remake is to have “insane branching paths for player choices” that existed in the original game.

With this leak coming from 4chan, it’s important to take it with a pinch of salt. BioWare has not officially announced a remake of Dragon Age: Origins.

A third sequel to the original, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, has been in development since 2015. A release date for that game is yet to be announced.
