This guide explains how to keep Pack-a-Punch weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies (MWZ).
Modern Warfare III dropped a few weeks ago and players have been getting stuck into everything it has to offer. MWZ – an all-new Zombies mode – is proving to be one of its most popular game modes.
This reimagined iteration of the beloved mode shifts Zombies into the DMZ format that was introduced in last year’s Modern Warfare II. Like DMZ, there is a lot for players to discover in MWZ including new features, easter eggs, items, bosses, and more.
However, some classic features from old school Zombies also return including the beloved Pack-a-Punch machine.
To recap, the Pack-a-Punch machine upgrades your weapons by buffing the damage and ammo capacity. If you want to venture into the higher difficulty areas, Pack-a-Punching is absolutely essential.
In MW3 Zombies, Pack-a-Punch upgrades do not carry over between games. Even if you upgrade a weapon to Level 3, it will revert to its most basic form in the next game.
Thankfully, there is a secret way to keep your Pack-a-Punch weapon between games. So, let’s take a look at this special easter egg in MW3 Zombies.
How to keep Pack-a-Punch weapons in MW3 Zombies
This is how to keep Pack-a-Punch weapons between games in MW3 Zombies:
Travel to the old fort at map coordinates E4 in Old Town. At the top of the fort, there is a small grave with a headstone made up of three swords and two rifles.
Approach the grave and interact with it when the “Pay Respects” prompt appears. This will revert your Pack-a-Punch weapon to its base form; however, the upgraded version will be available in the next game.
A reward rift will also spawn with a random gift for completing the easter egg.
Be aware that this is the high difficulty area, so zombies are incredibly tough. Once your upgraded weapon has been removed, you will be mostly defenceless. Be sure to get out of the area as quickly as possible.
To get to the grave, go up the stairs on the right side of the fort. Turn left at the top – the grave is roughly in the middle.
And there you have it – now you know how to keep your Pack-a-Punch weapon in MW3 Zombies (MWZ).
