This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (MW3) Zombies guide explains how to get a Three Plate Vest.

Call of Duty Zombies is back in MW3. But it’s not quite the same as before. Dubbed ‘MWZ’, Zombies in MW3 is based on the foundations of Warzone‘s DMZ mode. It is more like an extraction-based looter shooter than the round-based experience players will be used to.

That means you now need to complete missions and scavenge for better equipment across the huge Urzikstan map. This includes better armor plate carriers (also known as armor vests). As standard, all players deploy into Urzikstan with a One Plate Vest. These are fine in the outer zone of the map where zombies are easy to kill.

However, things will prove far more challenging as you enter the orange and red zones. To improve your odds of surviving, you need at least a Two Plate Vest which can be purchased from Buy Stations. However, it is also possible to get a Three Plate Vest – but they aren’t easy to come by.

After acquiring one for myself in Zombies, I can now share the quickest and easiest way of getting one. Check out the steps below.

How to get a Three Plate Vest in MW3 Zombies (MWZ)

To get a Three Plate Vest in MW3 Zombies (MWZ), you first need a Mercenary Stronghold Keycard. You can purchase these from Buy Stations for 2,000 points. Alternatively, you can get them by completing a Mercenary Camp and collecting one from a loot cache.

Once you have the keycard, go to a Mercenary Stronghold. After clearing the Stronghold, find and drill the safe. Once the safe is open, there will be a Three Plate Vest inside for you to collect.

Three Plate Vests can be found inside Mercenary Stronghold safes.

Now your operator is kitted out with a superior armor plate carrier, you are far better equipped for surviving in the tougher zones in Zombies.

Remember, if you want to hold onto your Three Plate Vest in future games, you need to extract it from Urzikstan. Otherwise it will be lost and you’ll need to collect it all over again.
