Season 4 Reloaded might have only come out a couple of weeks ago but Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone is due to launch on 2 August.

As always, the new season is introducing a number of new features to Modern Warfare II and Warzone. Naturally, some of these – like weapons and Operators – cross over. However, some are exclusive to Call of Duty‘s battle royale mode.

Past seasons have seen the addition of new maps, areas, equipment, missions, and more. Season 5 is shaping up to be no different, with a whole host of exciting new things for players to sink their teeth into.

Let’s take a look at the list of new features coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in Season 5…

New features in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5

While Season 5 isn’t introducing anything quite as dramatic as a new map, it’s still bringing some pretty significant changes to Warzone.

Vondel Champions Quest

Squads on a five match winning streak in Mini Battle Royale will become eligible for the Vondel Champion’s Quest contract.

Like its Al Mazrah based counterpart, the Vondel Champion’s Quest tasks players with collecting three volatile elements. Each of these must then be used to construct a nuclear weapon. If successfully completed, the nuke will detonate and end the match in favour of the squad who triggered it.

As explained in the official Season 5 blog post, the three new elements are:

  • Gallium: Holding Gallium reveals all nearby team members who held it previously, as if you were affected by a Snapshot Grenade.
  • Deuterium: This fatigues any Operator, which includes causing them to cough if they try sprinting.
  • Neptunium: This periodically electrocutes all nearby Operators as well as  hay-wiring vehicles, with similar effects as the Shock Stick.

New Vehicles

Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone also introduces two new vehicles to the game: the MRAP and the Dirt Bike.

MRAP

Similar in size to the normal Cargo Truck, the MRAP comes fortified with armour plating and turrets. While this makes it slow, it is still a beast when it comes to launching assaults on other squads. Similarly, it can be used as a moving defensive base while navigating across Al Mazrah.

Dirt Bike

Fast and nippy, the Dirt Bike allows up to two players to zip across Al Mazrah while weaving in and out of danger at will.

New Modes

For those whole enjoy trying something new, Season 5 introduces two new modes for players to jump into. They are: Fort Resurgence and Armored Royale.

Fort Resurgence

Fort Resurgence is a new game mode introduced in Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone. It features a slice of Al Mazrah, centred around the Al Bagra Fortress and its surrounding areas. This map is integrated into the Resurgence Rotation Playlists, alongside Ashika Island and Vondel.

Armored Royale

Armored Royale is back in Season 5 of Warzone. In this unique mode, squads drop onto the map with their own MRAP vehicle. Players must use, fortify, and repair the vehicle while battling rival squads with their own armored trucks.

The MRAP comes equipped with a powerful turret, protective shielding, and a mobile Buy Station.

Call of Duty 2023 Reveal Event

During Season 5, Warzone will play host to the Call of Duty 2023 reveal. This limited time event will be an interactive announcement similar to how Black Ops Cold War was unveiled back in the original Warzone.

While a specific date and time for the event has not been given, the official description gives fans a glimpse at what to expect:

Join the ranks of Shadow Company to take on Konni forces and secure the chemical weapon threat before it’s too late. Stay tuned to Call of Duty channels for more details about the upcoming reveal.
