This Password Game guide explains how to solve Rule 14.

The Password Game is a free puzzle game available online. Its concept is seemingly straightforward – concoct a password that fulfils the criteria established by the game’s rules. Sounds deceptively simple, doesn’t it? However, the rules governing your password gradually intensify as you make progress. And certain ones demand substantial time and contemplation to solve.

This has earned the game an impressive following among speedrunners and streamers. While the experience may hold an undeniable allure for puzzle enthusiasts, it can prove overwhelmingly tough and irritating.

As you navigate through the ever-evolving set of rules in The Password Game, your password will lengthen and grow increasingly complex.

Things start getting especially tough when you reach Rule 14. This may take players by surprise due to the sudden difficulty spike.

Rule 14 reads as follows: “Your password must include the name of this country.” Accompanying this instruction is a small Google Maps window showing a specific location in Street View. While you are able to move around the location, it can be incredibly difficult to deduce which country you are in.

So, what do you need to do with Rule 14?

How to solve Rule 14 in The Puzzle Game

This is how to solve Rule 14 in The Puzzle Game:

To solve Rule 14, first look for street names. If available in the location shown, they will appear on the ground in white text.

Look for a street name.

If you can find a street name, go to the Google Maps website and type it in. If the street name is unique, this should immediately give you the answer you need. However, if the name is more common you may need to do some more work. Check each street with the name to see if it matches the location in The Password Game. Eventually, you should find the correct location and be able to complete Rule 14.

Use Google Maps and search for the street name.

If a street name isn’t available, look for any indications of where you are in the surrounding area. This may include billboards, posters, phone numbers, signs, and more.

If there is little physical information available, look for a nearby landmark(s). For example, in one location I was given, I could see a lighthouse and a sign reading “Passport Control”. I went to Google Images and searched “lighthouse passport control”.

This returned results suggesting the location was Finland. I entered “Finland” into my password and it was correct.

So, while Rule 14, is a head-scratcher at first, it simply requires a bit of thought and detective work to solve.
