This Final Fantasy XVI guide provides the location of Sekhret notorious mark and explains how to defeat it.

During the initial 10-15 hours of Final Fantasy XVI, players will predominantly follow a linear path. And there are limited incentives to explore the expansive game world.

The main focus of the narrative revolves around Clive Rosfield’s quest for revenge, driven by his determination to avenge his brother Joshua, who was killed by a mysterious Eikon. These Eikons are magical creatures that possess human hosts known as Dominants, and Clive becomes completely absorbed in his mission.

However, after a pivotal moment in FF16‘s storyline (which I won’t reveal to preserve the surprise), the game gradually introduces more enticing reasons to venture into Valisthea and uncover its hidden secrets.

Although the side quests in the game may not be groundbreaking, players are sure to find enjoyment in the hunt board.

Located at the Hideaway, the hunt board allows players to interact with Nektar the Moogle and browse through a list of dangerous creatures called “Notorious Marks” that need to be located and defeated.

These marks are categorised based on their strength and difficulty, ranging from C-rank to B-rank and beyond, giving players an idea of the challenge they pose.

Upon successfully defeating a notorious mark, players will receive rewards in the form of Gil and Renown, as well as additional spoils obtained from the battle.

One such hunt available to players is Sekhret, which is a B-rank notorious mark. It is a large minotaur that is described as a chieftain. According to its hunt board poster, it is somewhere west of Rhiannon’s Ride in Rosaria. But its exact location is a mystery and you must find it for yourself. So, where is it?

This is where to find Sekhret in Final Fantasy XVI:

Sekhret is located in the northwest corner of Greensheaves, almost directly north of Martha’s Rest. Its exact location is shown in the image below:

To reach it, fast travel to Martha’s Rest. Head into Greensheaves by going north from Martha’s Rest. Once you enter the swampland, head to the area’s northwest corner. You will see Sekhret patrolling near the river edge.

The fight will begin when you approach it.

How to defeat Sekhret in FF16

Sekhret poses a significant threat to players. That’s because of its abundance of HP and powerful attacks. These include charge attacks where it will attempt to trample you. You must quickly dodge out of the way of these to avoid massive damage. But be careful, it will always turn around and immediately attempt it for a second time.

Its other moves include a spinning club attack which must be dodged, as well as club slams which can be easily avoided.

Your best bet is to charge up your Limit Break as quickly as possible and rely on your elemental abilities to deal most of the damage between dodges.

Once Sekhret has been defeated, you will receive 10,250 Gil and 20 Renown. As part of the post-battle spoils, you will also be rewarded with a Minotaur Mane which can be used for crafting.
