This article explains how Dynamic controls work in Street Fighter 6.

Street Fighter 6 is due to launch on 2 June and reviews have started to roll in. Critics agree that it is one of the best fighting games ever made and a highlight for the long-running series. It currently stands at a rating of 92 on Metacritic. The new game has introduced a range of new features and boasts three main game modes for players to get stuck into.

The three modes are Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub. Each one caters to different aspects of gameplay and provides various avenues for competition and exploration. In the Fighting Ground mode, players have the option of using Dynamic controls in offline gameplay.

Fighting Ground encompasses the classic 2D fighting gameplay that the series is known for. Players can engage in local or online versus battles, refine their skills through training mode, and experience the nostalgic arcade mode. The mechanics stay true to the Street Fighter format, with two fighters utilising an array of attacks and special abilities to defeat their opponents.

The introduction of Dynamic controls is intended to make Street Fighter 6 easier for newcomers and button bashers in the Fighting Ground mode. As any fan knows, fighting games usually require players to learn complex combos with tight timing windows. Dynamic removes this element and makes the game more accessible at lower skill levels.

So, what are Dynamic controls in Street Fighter 6? Let’s take a look.

What are Dynamic controls in Street Fighter 6? Dynamic controls make playing Street Fighter easier and more accessible than ever. Rather than having to master complex combos, Dynamic controls requires a single press of one of three auto-attack buttons. Based on the distance between you and your opponent, an automatic attack combo will be triggered. Super Arts, Overdrive Arts, Throws, Drive Parry, and Drive Impact all have their own dedicated button as well.

This layout removes the skill gap between players who are used to the Street Fighter series and those who are playing it for the first time.

With Dynamic controls, new players aren’t restricted to single punches and kicks. Instead, they can perform stylish combos without spending hours training and learning moves lists.

Once a novice player has gotten to grips with the mechanics of Street Fighter 6, they can move on to the Modern or Classic control types. Modern provides a reduced level of assistance compared to Dynamic but does not require as much skill or time to master as Classic.
