Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – How to cross broken rail

Broken rail in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

This guide explains how to cross the broken rail in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Traversing Hyrule’s diverse landscape requires some ingenuity. Using the Ultrahand ability, you can create contraptions from objects that allow you to progress onwards. However, it can be difficult to know where to start when you face a new obstacle.

After visiting the Ukouh Shrine, you are sent to find and explore two more Shrines. One of them sits on a mountain on the eastern side of Great Sky Island. There are a number of obstacles you need to pass before you get there. One of them is a broken rail.

Rails made for carts usually consist of two parralel tracks. However, with this one, the track on the right side is broken. If you try to ride a cart across it, the cart will fall and Link will die.

So, let’s go over how to cross the broken rail in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

This is how to cross the broken rail in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: In the nearby area, find a cart, a hook, and a fan. With the cart standing upright, use the Ultrahand ability to attach the flat part of the hook to the middle of the cart. Next, attach a fan to the back of the cart.

With the hook and fan attached, move the cart so that it is hanging from the intact rail on the left side of the track. Jump into the cart and hit the fan to activate it. This will propel you to the other side.

Once you’re there, simply jump off the cart to the ledge below.
