Atomic Heat passive security relay - Not So Fast, Major

This guide explains how to solve the passive security relay in the Atomic Heart “Not So Fast, Major” quest.

Atomic Heart heart has arrived and initial reception to the game has been mixed. The new action RPG from developers Mundish has a promising concept but many – including myself – thought it failed to deliver the goods. Nonetheless, the game launches on PC and Xbox Game Pass on 21 February, so many will be checking it out as part of their subscription.

The game takes players to an alternate history Soviet Union. It is 1955, the development of a programmable liquid called “Polymer” has led to rapid advances in the worlds of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Scientist Dmitry Sechenov – the inventor of Polymer – is set to announce his latest invention: Kollektiv 2.0. Kollektiv allows humans to control robots with their minds. However, on the eve of the new technology’s launch, research hub Facilitiy 3826’s robots go haywire and massacre the settlement’s inhabitants.

Major Sergei Nechaev is dispatched to deal with the disaster by putting down the robotic rebellion and discovering its cause. But not everything is as it seems, and not everyone can be trusted.

Atomic Heart is a first-person shooter with RPG elements. Players need to arm P-3 with an arsenal of crafted weapons to deal with his robotic foes. Along the way, you also need to solve numerous puzzles to progress through Atomic Heart‘s dungeons.

One such type of puzzle are the passive security relays. These puzzles feature throughout the game; however, the first one appears during the “Not So Fast, Major” quest.

The security relays involve reorganising laser beams into specific patterns.

Let’s go over how to solve the passive security relay in the “Not So Fast, Major” mission…

As mentioned, the passive security relays require you to move laser beams to correspond with a set of lights. To do this, you must rotate sets of plates that either emit, carry, or divert the beams.

As you progress through the game, you will become familiar with the relay puzzles. This makes them easier. However, the first one is likely to leave you stumped.

You need to solve the first relay to power the nearby elevators that can take you up to a higher floor.
