Ravenclaw Tower is home to the Ravenclaw common room and dormitories where students relax and sleep in their spare time. Like the other house specific areas around Hogwarts, Ravenclaw Tower is uniquely decorated to match its namesake.
As well as the common room, Ravenclaw Tower also has one of Hogwarts Legacy‘s many arithmancy puzzle doors. These doors require a bit of mathematical problem solving to open; however, they always have valuable loot inside.
Getting to this specific puzzle door is pretty easy because it is situated near to the Ravenclaw Tower floo flame. If you have discovered this floo flame already, simply fast travel to it. Or, if you haven’t, look on the Hogwarts map and set yourself a waypoint.
Once you have found the puzzle door in question, simply follow the instructions below to get it open.

How To Solve Ravenclaw Tower Door Puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy
Opening the door requires an understanding of the magical discipline of ‘arithmancy’ to solve. Arithmancy is the study of the magical properties of numbers.
All the puzzle doors require you to find the missing numbers in two separate math puzzles. Each puzzle consists of three numbers or corresponding symbols that add up to the sum total in the middle.
There is an invaluable cheat sheet inside a chest next to the blackboard directly opposite the Library Annex puzzle door. The numbers and symbols on the sheet apply to every puzzle door in Hogwarts Legacy, including the one in Ravenclaw Tower.
This is how to solve the Ravenclaw Tower door puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy:
Turn the two dials to match up with the symbols below –
- ? = Owl (4)
- ?? = Crab (5)
N.B. Both dials are in the same area as the door. The ‘?’ dial can be found in the north west corner next to a suit of armour. The ‘??’ dial is located on the wall opposite the door.
Once you have set both dials to the correct symbol, return to the door and it will open.
