Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 certainly mixed things up when it launched two months ago. Players are still getting used to the numerous changes it introduced to the incredibly successful battle royale. But – like its predecessor – it features in-game events. And one fan-favourite event is Jailbreak. But when does Jailbreak happen in Warzone 2?
Before we talk about that, it’s important to note that lots is new in Warzone 2.0. For starters, its setting – Al Mazrah – is a completely different battlefield to Verdansk and Caldera.
Likewise, various key mechanics and features have also been tweaked or changed entirely.
The revamped battle royale mode has transformed the game in a number of ways by introducing different features such as the re-jigged looting system, 2v2 gulag, and split circle.
More subtle changes like reduced time-to-kill, aggressive AI, and the introduction of two and three plate armor vests have also altered Warzone considerably. And all these changes have resulted in a mixed reaction from players. Some love it, and others really don’t.
For this reason, it’s good to see that at least some popular features from the previous battle royale iteration are present in Al Mazrah.
Jailbreak is one of these. But how does it work? And when does Jailbreak happen in Warzone 2?
When Does Jailbreak Happen in Warzone 2?
In-game events can be major difference makers in Warzone. And perhaps none more-so than Jailbreak.
As every CoD player knows, dying in Warzone is incredibly frustrating. And if your squad don’t revive you, you only have two options. Either sit and spectate, or back out and enter another game.
But Jailbreak provides you with another chance.
When a Jailbreak occurs, all dead Operators still in the game will be redeployed to the battlefield. Best of all, your squad won’t have to spend any money to bring you back. You’ll return for free and get another shot at winning the game.
You will be informed a Jailbreak is happening by an on-screen notification stating “Jailbreak Imminent” and that “All Operators will redeploy”.
Once the countdown ends, you will return to Al Mazrah just as you would if your squad bought you back at a Buy Station.
This is when a Jailbreak happens in Warzone 2. A Jailbreak is a random in-game event in Warzone 2. There is no guarantee it will happen and it won’t occur in every match. If a Jailbreak does take place, it will likely be towards the end of the game at the beginning of the third or fourth circle.
If you’re hoping for a Jailbreak in Warzone 2, the only way to know if one will occur is to wait and see. After being eliminated, remain in the game until the end.
Should the Call of Duty gods look upon you favourably, you may be treated to a Jailbreak. But so will everyone else. Which means winning the match won’t be any easier.
