This guide explains the Warzone DMZ insured slot including what it is and how it works.
More than two and half years have passed since the launch of the original Call of Duty: Warzone. Millions of players have passed through Verdansk and Caldera, and thousands of hours have been spent fleeing the dreaded gas. But now Warzone 2.0 has arrived at last – and it has brought some big changes with it.
The revamped battle royale mode introduces a brand-new map. Gone are Verdansk and Caldera. Now fans can look forward to dropping in to Al Mazrah for the first time.
Al Mazrah is set to incorporate many of the locations from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II‘s multiplayer and campaign modes.
Warzone 2.0 will not only give players a new map to explore. It will also introduce a host of new gameplay features.
These include a new 2v2 Gulag, Circle Collapse, new vehicles, and a dedicated 3rd person playlist. On top of that, Warzone 2.0 also features the brand-new DMZ mode – Call of Duty‘s take on Escape from Tarkov.
DMZ drops players into Al Mazrah with the aim of procuring weapons and loot, completing contracts, and battling enemy operators and AI. Within a set time-limit, players must extract before encroaching radiation leaves them trapped inside the Exclusion Zone.
DMZ doesn’t feature loadouts in the same way traditional Warzone does. Instead, loadouts are made up of contraband and an insured slot. But many players are confused about what exactly the DMZ insured slot is.
So, allow us to explain how the Warzone DMZ insured slot works…
Warzone DMZ Insured Slot Explained
DMZ is all about on-site procurement. It’s a survival game, so you drop in with limited gear and you must to find most of what you need.
When you load up DMZ for the first time, you will notice a contraband stash in the Weapons screen. These contraband weapons can be taken into DMZ as loadouts; however, they will be lost if you die.
Similarly, if you drop in to DMZ and extract with a new weapons, it can be added to your contraband stash (up to a maximum of 20).
With the risk of losing your contraband weapons in every game, that’s where the DMZ insured slot comes in.
This is how the Warzone DMZ insured slot works: The insured slot allows you to nominate one custom or contraband weapon to be saved should you fail to extract with it equipped in DMZ.
Unlike the other contraband weapons, you can actually customise a gun in an insured slot using Gunsmith.
If you fail to extract with an insured weapon equipped, it will become locked for a period of time before it can be used again. However, this time can be reduced by successfully completing subsequent games.
It is possible to unlock up to three insured slots in DMZ. This can be done by completing faction missions.
