It is hard to imagine that it has been two and a half years since the introduction of the original Call of Duty: Warzone. It was an astronomical success for Activision and it basically carried half the world through the pandemic. And now here we are in November 2022 awaiting the imminent release of Warzone 2.0 after months of anticipation.
The revamped battle royale mode introduces a brand-new map. Gone are Verdansk and Caldera. Now fans can look forward to dropping in to Al Mazrah for the first time.
Al Mazrah is set to incorporate many of the locations from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II‘s multiplayer and campaign modes.

Call of Duty®: Warzone™ 2.0 heads to the metropolitan area and rural outskirts within the Republic of Adal in the next iteration of Call of Duty®’s massive Free-to-Play Battle Royale experience. Al Mazrah brings with it brand-new gameplay innovations, new player mechanics, and the all-new DMZ mode.

Warzone 2.0 will not only give players a new map to explore. It will also introduce a host of new gameplay features.
These include a new 2v2 Gulag, Circle Collapse, new vehicles, and a dedicated 3rd person playlist. On top of that, Warzone 2.0 is also set to feature the brand-new DMZ mode – Call of Duty‘s take on Escape from Tarkov.

How To Download Warzone 2.0 on PS5, Xbox, and PC
If you don’t already own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 the process is simple.
This is how to download Warzone 2.0 if you don’t own Modern Warfare 2:
Simply navigate to the relevant store dependant on your chosen platform, search for “Warzone 2.0”, and press the “Download”/”Pre-load” button.
Note: On PS5, some users are unable to find Warzone 2.0 by searching for it. Instead, they need to go to Modern Warfare 2 in the PlayStation Store and select the three dots to show extra content. A list should pop up from which you can select Warzone 2.0. From here, you can download or pre-load the game.
This is how to download Warzone 2.0 if you already own Modern Warfare 2:
Existing owners of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 must simply wait for the Season 01 pre-load update to enable Warzone 2.0. The update has reportedly been delayed but will be available soon.
The Season 01 update should start automatically but you can try periodically navigating to Modern Warfare 2 and manually checking for updates.
Once the update has been downloaded and installed, Warzone 2.0‘s files will be an additional pack under the Modern Warfare 2 install. Simply launch Modern Warfare 2 as normal and select Warzone 2.0 to play.
Update 16 Nov: Warzone 2.0 and Season 01 are now live. The update is available across all platforms.
